Deep Breaths

A few tidbits

A couple brief updates on recent happenings around here:

First off, we wanted to assure everyone that Leia's health has been fine since our momentary heart scare a couple weeks ago. All of her test results came back clear and she hasn't had any more episodes like the previous one. So the doctor says it's either a non-threatening genetic condition that may not even crop up again, or it was a one-time reaction to stress or something. Anyway, we're greatly relieved and thankful for your prayers.

We've been doing a bit more youth ministry networking recently, which has been refreshing. The Friday before last, we invited another youth group to join our kids for a night of snacks and games in our youth room. We had a lot of fun with them, and it was nice to have the room packed out with kids. Then yesterday we had a meeting with youth leaders from churches all over the island, in preparation for a big nationwide youth day in March. It was really cool to meet some people from other parts of the country who have similar passions for God and young people, and it was especially nice for me because most of them were English-speakers, so I could actually follow everything that was going on and converse easily.

Other than that, not much is going on. Leia has a school holiday on Tuesday, so she's looking forward to having a day off. I'm scrambling like crazy to finish the book I'm writing before my deadline, and just trying to stay sane. I'm devastated about not being able to watch the Super Bowl this year (Go Colts!), but we are looking forward to spending our first Valentine's Day together as a couple, which will be wonderful (Last year we had to do Valentine's Day over the phone, which is extremely unsatisfying).

So that's our life at the moment. Nothing too spectacular, but it's the only one we have. We look forward to hearing from all of you soon (hint hint).
