Chestnuts (and Marshmallows) Roasting on an Open Fire

Well as you may have noticed, we have delayed posting once again….mostly because it was my turn and I am a terrible procrastinator but also because there were a couple of weeks where we were quite busy but nothing actually ‘blog worthy’. I just have three more days of work and then I’m FREEEEEEEE!!!!!! (well until 8th Jan…but we wont think about that yet!)

Christmas is upon us. This week was our first Christmassy-style week. On Thursday we went to Mum and Dad’s to put up decorations, toast marshmallows and chestnuts in their fire place, and make mulled wine. Truth be told, it represents our new multi-ethnic family traditions….marshmallows- American, chestnuts – Cypriot and mulled wine- English. It was nice to spend the evening with them because we have both been so busy and not seen each other much lately.

Last night was our church Christmas dinner, sponsored by the Youth (see pics below). It was a huge success although very exhausting. We all decorated the cafeteria with gold and silver decorations and put candles everywhere. It looked beautiful. The adults came dressed-up because it was a formal dinner and we all wore white and black to look like servers. Some of the youth prepared a few Christmas songs and played excellently. Everyone worked hard and all the guests were congratulating the kids and thanking them. We were very proud of them and hopefully we made some money to spend on future activities.

Today is our six-month anniversary. We are going to a Spanish Tapas Restaurant for dinner which was the style of food we had in London the night John proposed. The restaurant is in the old city so we will be able to take a nice walk through the Christmas atmosphere of down town. We are both a bit under-the-weather because of last night and the beginning of a cold BUT we will not be deterred from our romantic time together. Yes Mums/Moms and Grandmas we will wrap up warm…we promise!

Thanks to those of you who have sent us Christmas cards and gifts. We want you to know that we are thinking of you all through this season and missing you. May God bless you and we hope you have a lovely week leading up to Christmas.
